X-10 Powerline
Control of your Irrigation System
An
X-10 based irrigation controller for your home
Product Overview
This unique product allows you to turn
your sprinklers ON/OFF using X-10 signals. If
you have a home automation controller capable of scheduling
X-10 transmissions (e.g., X-10 Pro, Stargate, CommStar,
etc.) you can create customized watering schedules with your
computer. Optional rain and weather sensors allow
automatic schedule adjustment for rain, wind, and freezing
conditions.
Important:
This product has built in safety features that are a must
for X-10 based control of your sprinkler system.
First, the product has a built-in timer that will not allow
a single sprinkler zone to run for more than 80 continuous
minutes. If an X-10 OFF signal is not received by the
irrigation controller, it will automatically shut off 80
minutes after it received the X-10 ON signal. This
prevents your sprinklers from running indefinitely if the
X-10 OFF signal does not get through. Second, the
product does not allow more than one sprinkler valve to be
on at the same time. This feature prevents excessive
current draw and low water pressure problems. (Note -
this second safety feature can disabled by the user to
specifically allow zones 1 and 2, or zones 3 and 4 to be ON
concurrently.)
Key Features and Specifications
- Easily replaces your existing
electronic irrigation timer.
- Operates on 24VAC (power supply
included).
- Requires existing solenoid
controlled electronic sprinkler valves.
- Uses X-10 commands on one housecode
(e.g., A through P) to control your sprinklers and
irrigation.
- Manual remote control with any X-10
transmitter (e.g., Palm Pad, keychain remote,
mini-controller, etc)
- Create customized watering
schedules with your home automation controller.
- Control your sprinklers from your
home, office or cellular telephone with any X-10
compatible telephone interface.
- Auto shut-off after 80 minutes of
continuous operation of one zone (safety feature).
- Manual ON/OFF control of your
sprinklers via the "radio" buttons on the controller.
- You can initiate a watering
schedule by pressing a button on the controller. When
you press the button, it sends an X-10 signal that can
be used to "trigger" a macro or event in your home
automation controller.
- LEDs on the controller show ON/OFF
status of zones, and status of optional rain/moisture
sensor.
- You select the X-10 housecode (e.g.
A through P) you want the system to operate on (each
controller requires a dedicated separate housecode).
- You can temporarily (72 hours), or
permanently suspend your watering schedule by sending an
X-10 code to the irrigation controller or by pressing a
button on the irrigation controller.
- Optional weather
sensors will automatically place the irrigation
controller in a "weather delay" mode and send an
X-10 signal to your home automation controller to report
the weather delay status.
- The wired rain sensor (pictured
above) mounts on the side of your home or other area
exposed to rainfall. It is adjustable so that a
"rain delay" condition begins after receiving
greater than 1/8 inch to 1 inch of rain (you select
the amount).
- Size: 5.0 inches x 5.75 inches x
1.5 inches.
